The story of Zakatul Maal Islamee Foundation (ZMIF) is one of compassion, perseverance, and growth. Founded in 2023, ZMIF was established in response to the increasing needs of orphans and vulnerable communities in Nigeria. From humble beginnings, the foundation has quickly grown into a dynamic organisation that supports hundreds of families across the country, thanks to the generosity of donors like you.

Inception and Early Days

ZMIF was founded by a group of dedicated individuals who recognised the urgent need for a focused, well-coordinated effort to address the challenges facing vulnerable populations in Nigeria. Under the leadership of Chairman Adeyemi Samuel Adebola and Secretary Omoyele Adebisi Opeolu, the foundation was created with the goal of providing life-saving support to those who need it most.

In the early days, ZMIF’s operations were modest, focusing on providing basic necessities such as food and shelter to orphans and impoverished families. Despite limited resources, the foundation’s leadership was determined to make a difference, and they worked tirelessly to build partnerships, raise funds, and expand the scope of their programs.

Partnership with Love The Orphan (LTO):

A significant turning point in ZMIF’s history came when the foundation partnered with Love The Orphan (LTO), a UK-based charity with a similar mission. This partnership brought much-needed resources, expertise, and international attention to ZMIF’s work. With LTO’s support, ZMIF was able to scale its operations, reach more beneficiaries, and launch new initiatives aimed at addressing the root causes of poverty and vulnerability.

The partnership with LTO also allowed ZMIF to strengthen its organisational capacity, improve its financial management systems, and enhance its transparency and accountability practices. As a result, ZMIF gained the trust and confidence of a growing number of donors, both in Nigeria and abroad.

Adapting to Challenges

Like any organisation, ZMIF has faced its share of challenges over the years. From economic downturns to political instability, the foundation has had to navigate a complex and often difficult landscape. However, under the steady leadership of Chairman Adeyemi Samuel Adebola and Secretary Omoyele Adebisi Opeolu, ZMIF has remained resilient and adaptable.

One of the key factors behind ZMIF’s success has been its ability to respond quickly and effectively to emerging needs. Whether it’s providing emergency relief in the aftermath of a natural disaster or launching new programs to address shifting trends in poverty and vulnerability, ZMIF has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt and thrive in a changing world.
